SUMMARY:Food Systems Game Changers Lab Global Open Call Deadline
DESCRIPTION:The Global Open Call\, launched on March 24\, 2021\, is a 10-week engagement during which you’ll be asked to develop and work through the details of your solution. For the purposes of the Food Systems Game Changers Lab\, a solution is an idea\, initiative\, or innovation that has the potential to bring positive systemic change. We’re interested in solutions in all stages of readiness—from ideas to prototypes to fully implemented—and at all scales—from local to city\, country\, region\, and global. \nSubmissions to the Global Open Call are due on May 25\, 2021\, and winners—who will move on to the Food Systems Game Changers Lab Phase 2: Solution Cohorts—will be announced the week of June 7\, 2021. Phase 2 is the bridge that can link the solution you create and hone during the Global Open Call to the people who can help make that solution a reality at a global scale. \nTo submit your solution\, go to: link here

SUMMARY:State St Farmers Market
DESCRIPTION:The Santa Barbara Certified Farmers’ Market is a fresh produce driven\, outdoor market of over 120 members. The market has been in existence for over 30 years and includes 6 local locations. The markets serve to strengthen the local communities ties and will help to provide weekly events at no cost while enhancing our community’s quality of life. Each week the farmers in the marketplace display a colorful bounty of agricultural products grown right in our backyard. Seasonal diversity is available year round rain or shine. \nSituated in the heart of Downtown Santa Barbara\, SBCFM’s second largest weekly certified farmers’ market hosts 50-60 certified agricultural producers on a weekly basis\, depending on the season. Thousands of locals and visitors gather on the open streets of the 600 & 700 blocks of State St. for our most festive weekly farmers’ market. Surrounding restaurants and bars are lively\, and buskers line the sidewalks\, all while our farmers offer their fresh harvests directly to the public.
