Please see below for a more detailed scheduled by date. \nThe August 12th session will include two case studies like the previous sessions\, followed by representatives from Ascent Environmental\, who are assisting the Board of Forestry & Fire Protection in the development and funding of Project-Specific Analyses (PSAs) for Cal Vegetation Treatment Program (CalVTP) projects\, and they will lead discussion on grazing as a covered activity under the CalVTP\, funding for completion of PSAs\, eligible projects\, and the use of the CalVTP Programmatic Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) for CalVTP projects. DESCRIPTION:Originally inspired by the yearly International Seed Swap Day that takes place on the last Sunday of January\, the Seed Swap is a local community event attended by hundreds every year. Santa Barbara Permaculture Network adapts to the realities of COVID 19 by sponsoring the 13th Annual Community Seed Swap online for 2021! \nSB Permaculture Network will host a month long virtual experience starting on January 31\, that will feature interesting seed saving projects\, some of our favorite speakers & exhibitors from past events\, a community seed grow out project\, and suggestions on how to share seeds in your own neighborhoods. It will be interactive\, and all are encouraged to participate! All activities will take place on the SB Annual Community Seed Swap facebook page\, and will start on January 31.

DESCRIPTION:The Food for Mood presentation will be led by Alma Palacios\, Foodbank Dietetic Intern. Alma Palacios is a recent master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics graduate from Bastyr University and is currently completing her dietetic internship through Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. \nFood for Mood will discuss certain foods and eating patterns that affect how we feel and how we think. This class will look in more detail at some of the reasons that may be contributing to our mood swings\, cravings\, and fatigue. We will also discuss dietary and lifestyle patterns to help with mood and maintaining energy levels throughout the day. \n

DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Registration is now open for the FREE Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) Extended Learning Green Gardener Training offered over Zoom on either Mondays or Wednesdays from 4:30 to approximately 6:30 PM. \nMonday class runs Aug. 24 to Dec. 7\, 2020\nWednesday class runs Aug. 26 to Dec. 9\, 2020. \nThis class is for landscapers and home gardeners interested in landscaping and food production. If you have taken the class and would like to repeat it just register again. Oscar has developed this class over the last 20 years. In addition to his expertise you will have multiple guest experts present. The class is usually taught in-person but this fall all of SBCC classes are over Zoom. \nYou will learn to garden in harmony with natural systems along with the specifics of: Site selection\, plant nutrition\, food production\, watering\, plant selection\, harvesting\, soil management\, compost\, mulching\, weed and pest management and much more! \nStep 1.
