DESCRIPTION:The FAO Food and Agriculture Program of the United Nations North America\, Food Tank\, Driscoll’s\, and the University of British Columbia present in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)\, Simon Fraser University\, and the Forum for Farmers and Food Security. \n“World Food Day 2023 (Official Event): Water is Life” \nDate: Monday\, October 16 \nLocation: SFU Wosk Centre for Dialogue\, ICBC Concourse and Salons\, Downtown Vancouver\, Canada \nOur overarching goal is to highlight stories of hope and success in relation to the theme: “Water is life\, water is food. Leave no one behind.” \nWater is essential to life on Earth. It covers the majority of the Earth’s surface\, makes up over 50% of our bodies\, produces our food\, and supports livelihoods. But this precious resource is not infinite and we need to stop taking it for granted. What we eat\, and how that food is produced all affect water. \nTogether\, we can take water action for food and be the change. \nThe event is the Official North America World Food Day 2023 event. \nThe event is complimentary and will also be available via livestream. Ticket includes lunch\, snacks\, and a reception. \nSpeakers to be announced soon.
