SUMMARY:International Ecological Resilience: Permaculture in Action
DESCRIPTION:In honor of Earth Day\, Warren Brush\, a global resilience design consultant\, educator\, lecturer and storyteller\, and co-founder of Wilderness Youth Project and Quail Springs Permaculture in Cuyama\, California\, will share his experiences working with international organizations\, non-profits\, and governments around the world to bring regenerative thinking and design to vulnerable communities around the world. He will talk about his current projects working with the Danish Refugee Council\, USAID\, and Mercy Corp as well as other international projects\, to illuminate how permaculture principles are actually applied in a variety of contexts to solve real-time ecological and social problems in a way that works with nature\, not against her. Please come in-person to meet Warren. Please bring your questions. There will be time for discussion at the end. \nThe meeting will be at 1407 Chapala Street\, Santa Barbara\, less than a block from the Arlington Theater where most Earth Day events are focused. The Institute is landscaped using native plants. Someone will be available about how we converted from a lawn to natives. \nYou may attend this event in person\, or watch a simultaneous webcast. In-person\, masks are optional. See the website for information on how to log on to the webcast: http://www.worldculture.org.
