A NEW MISSION, NAME, & WEBSITE
After 3 years of growth, collaboration, priority focusing, resource sharing, and a lot of hours of convening, the Community of Practice across 6 counties has become the Central Coast Food Commons. Working together to articulate a shared mission statement, the group then worked with brand development team Pharos Creative to develop a new name and visual identity. From there, the team developed an online shared hub, CCFood.org, where they can share resources and further develop the cross-county network.
SBCFAN’s ROLE
SBCFAN co-convened the Community of Practice over the past three years, working to determine shared priorities, connect different food system actors, and build trust and collaboration across the region.
As administrator of $190,000 awarded through Catalyst, the California Jobs First Initiative, SBCFAN hired network 2 coordinators, commissioned a first-of-its-kind white paper on the Impact of Food on California’s Central Coast, and retained a brand development team to build the new brand and the online Food Commons hub.
